I am very sorry to hear of Ray’s passing. I met Ray in 1976 working at Kroger. We played softball together for years and had a lot of great times. You will be greatly missed, My sympathies to the entire Haselhorst family!

Ray was always happy person. I enjoyed our conversations at family reunions. Even when he knew he had cancer, he remained upbeat. What a great example for all of us to follow!

I first met Ray in 1976 when we both worked at Kroger. We became fast friends. Ray and I spent a lot time together in the early years. We played softball together for over 25 years. In all those years, I can honestly say I never met anyone that didn’t like Ray. Of course, what was there not to like? He always had a smile on his face and something funny to say, or a word of encouragement when someone was down. He was a friend to everyone and an enemy of no one. I will always picture Razel with a big smile on his face and a cold one in his hand. Billy Joel sang “Only the good die young”. Billy was oh so right in this case.

I met Ray about 2 years ago, after making friends with his daughter Erika. He was always a kind and funny guy to talk to. He took time to help me on the phone, when I had problems with our boat. When he could have easily charged me instead. He was always good at making jokes, and was a really great father to Erika and Rachel. I know he will be missed dearly. He was always be remembered by his family and friends through the stories they share with each other. May he rest peacefully.
