Rev. George Frame

Print Obituary
Rev. George E. Frame, 83, of Belleville IL, born on October 10, 1935, in East St Louis, IL, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 19, 2019, in Ann Arbor, MI.

George was a scientific sales specialist at Fisher Scientific in St Louis for 40 years but was best known for his 45 years as pastor of the historic First Baptist Church in Freeburg, retiring with his last service just one day before his 70th birthday. George was a beloved servant of the Lord and member of the Freeburg Community. His spirit of community helped to start a long tradition of community church services in Freeburg, stressing that it’s not the type of church that matters but the love of God and friendship.  He was a Minister to many and a friend to all.  He was a devoted father who will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Dee Anna, nee Gauch, Frame; his parents, George and Minnie, nee Burlo, Frame; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elmer and Estelle Gauch.

Surviving are his son David (Katheryn) Frame, and granddaughter, Kiera Frame, all of Dexter, MI.

We celebrate a life filled with years of devotion to God, Church and Family. In lieu of flowers memorials can made be made to Kiera’s Hope Project, a non-profit research organization for Georges granddaughter with CDKL5 Disorder, a rare neurologic disorder (CDKL5research.org). Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019, and from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2019, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2019 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL, with Rev. Earl Crecelius and Dr. David Frame officiating.

Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Freeburg, IL.

David, we were so blessed to have your dad marry us. We grew to know him and love him over the years. He made us laugh and had so many great stories about the people he loved and cared about. He was an ambassador for Jesus here on earth and touched so many lives. He will be so missed but is now with your mom in the arms of his savior.

David, I loved your dad and am so saddened by his loss and my heart goes out to you. I know your dad and we spent several hours in the living room talking about life, and he would do the crossword and I would read The New York Times - he was an absolute master at trivial Pursuit and we are just clueless without him with us to answer the sports questions! He and I also loved Bingo and would sometimes sit at the same table - Gorge was the most amazing man with a zest for life (though I did notice him looking and feeling tired of late and I was concerned about him) - he was one of the absolute sweetest men I’ve known and will be a long time before I get over his loss - he was truly loved by all of us and Brookhaven, are saddened by his loss, and Miss him terribly - he was a truly special one-of-a-kind man who will have a place in my heart God’s blessings and peace to you David

David and Katheryn, Linda and I have treasured the opportunity to have spent a lifetime connected to your family from Stella and Elmer to George and Dianna and of course you two. Many pleasant memories. George was a favorite customer in our businesses and I always tried to get free to share time with Elmer and George at the Dairy Queen. Please accept our sympathies on your loss of a father and great friend to you all. God bless.

I work at the Belleville Target store. Seeing George in the store was the sunshine in my day. He always had a smile on his face and was the kindest, most gentle person I've ever met. There was something about being around him that made you feel peaceful and happy. I have missed seeing him since he moved and hearing the news of his passing has saddened me greatly. May you, his family and friends, be comforted by your happy memories of him and the knowledge that he was loved by so many. Much love to you all and to George, Godspeed. Susan Haddad

David and family, My deepest sympathy to you all. George came into The Belleville Target and was loved by everyone! He would brighten up everyone’s day. If he wasn’t there we would get concerned and if our customers didn’t see him in a while they would ask us if he has been in. Such a pleasure to have met him and known him. We all loved him so much! My sincere condolences to you all.
