Mr. Bien was a retired journeyman carpenter. He attended Bailey Technical School and worked as a mechanic before becoming a carpenter. Bob was a member of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 0662. He loved stock car racing.
Mr. Bien was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon & Rita, nee Schmidt, Bien; and a sister Toni Hannon.
Surviving are his four sisters, Suzanne Bien of Forestdale, MA,
Karen (John) Temporiti of St. Louis, MO,
JoAnn (Galen) Ford of Cape Girardeau, MO,
and Patti Bien of Mascoutah, IL;
three aunts, Laverne Feiling of Belleville, IL,
Pauline (Alvin) Bietsch of Belleville, IL,
& Mary Schmidt of Millstadt, IL;
11 nieces and nephews;
and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. David Darin officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL, at a later date.
