Robert “Bob” G. Blazinic, 87, of Ellis Grove, IL, born July 25, 1936, in East St. Louis, Illinois, died Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, IL.

Robert was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a steel worker at Granite City Steel, Granite City, IL, for 44 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Robert was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Davis Farms Hunting Club, HO RO CC, and the VFW in Freeburg, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Maxine, nee Crammer, Blazinic; and his two sisters, Shirley Buskirk and Jeanie Atkinson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Blazinic, nee Mason, whom he married on April 20, 1977; five children, Vickie (Rex) Stephenson, Susie (Dan) McTearnen, Shelley (Keith) Bean, Bob (Jana) Blazinic, and Michael (Jennifer) Blazinic; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Kitty Gogol; dear niece, Debbie Mason; his buddy, Mike Canaday; two bonus grandchildren; and numerous friends.

A thank you to Red Bud Regional Hospital staff for their wonderful care. We all felt blessed to have such a great team taking care of our loved one. We would like to especially thank his loving nurse, Rachel Krebs.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Sorry to of Bob’s passing He was a great guy that knew how to enjoy life. I worked with bob many years on the 7a line.

We will miss your presence so much . Bob was such a character . He was the last person to spend the day with my dad and I couldn’t imagine a better person to spend my last day with . The world will be lost without ol Bob. Rip friend thanks for all the memories
