Mr. Butz, along with his wife “Sugie”, were the owners and operators of Wolf’s Meat Market, Belleville, IL, until 1993. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1028, Belleville, IL, a member of the Belleville/Swansea Moose Lodge 1221, Swansea, IL, and a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylverius and Grace, nee Millmann, Butz; two brothers, Theodore and Francis Butz; and four sisters, Rita Rosciglione, Celeste Paule, Marie Ellerbusch, and Ethel Wilke.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna V. “Sugie” Butz, nee Wolf, whom he married on April 11, 1953;
a son, Robert J. “Boomer” Butz and friend Mary Pickerell of Belleville, IL;
a daughter, Roberta A. “Robbie” (Richard) Keeney of Pleasant Hill, MO;
four grandchildren, Brett J. (Megan) Butz, of Bridgewater, MA,
Blake A. Butz (Carly Bowman) of Millstadt, IL,
Nikkii (Josh) Shriber, of Pleasant Hill, MO
and Erika (Aaron) Jones , of Pleasant Hill, MO;
one great-grandchild, Cole T. Jones of Pleasant Hill, MO;
and one sister, Joan (Lawrence) Olson of Clinton, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016, at the funeral home with Rev. Doug Stewart officiating.
Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
