Robert “Bruce” Cullen, 77, of Collinsville, IL, born February 1, 1946, at St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Louis, MO, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Highland, IL.

Bruce was a proud warrior who served both in the Navy and later as a Recon Ranger in the Marine Corps from 1963 until 1990. He served in several military campaigns. He enjoyed collecting Marine Corps memorabilia, supporting the Hibernians, and was a lifetime member of the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Anita, nee Robbins, Cullen; and a brother, James Cullen. He is survived by two sons, Robert Jr. and Scott; a daughter, Deanna Sheplak; a grandson, Loren James Cullen; a brother, Michael (Cheri) Cullen; and a sister, Deborah Jane Cullen. He was deeply loved and is mourned by, Cheryl Manker; her children, Terry and Timothy Manker; grandchildren, Nicholas, Hannah, and Kaitlin Manker; along with his dearest friends, Kenneth Kohlberg and Mary Porter.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2023, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A funeral procession will leave at 12 noon for a graveside service to be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO, with Deacon Corby Valentine officiating.
