Bob retired from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville after 40 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1965 to1969 on the USS Canberra and the USS St. Paul.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Melba, nee Paschall, Roth; his father, Matthias Hugyez; two sisters-in-law, Loise Hugyez and Cheryl Goodman; and two brothers-in-law, Tom Moore and Harry Eads.
He was the dear husband of Janice Hugyez, nee Burns;
wonderful father of Brandon (Chrissy) Hugyez,
Erica (Larry) Eader,
and Jamie (Jim) Turner;
proud PaPa of Madison, Paige, Brett, Jimmy, Aubrey, and Chloe;
beloved son of Robert Roth;
brother of Raymond “Butch” Hugyez, Mary “Betty” Eads,
and Cindy (Chip) Kuhn;
and brother-in-law of Michael (Pat) Burns, Pam (Bob) Pahlman,
Barb Moore, and Julie Krafft.
He was a beloved uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend; and the loyal companion of Scotty.
His extended family includes the Hemmers and the Tharps.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight. Also, please consider donating blood and platelets to the American Red Cross for those in need.
Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: A funeral service with full military honors will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Webb and Brother Chuck Bohannon officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
My brother Bob is at peace now. I could never thank him enough for all the acts of kindness for me and my family. I have so many great memories with Bob and Janice. I couldn’t of ask for a better extended family then the Hugyezs. Love you all!!
