Mr. Koerber was a member of Operating Engineers Local 520. He was the former fire chief of Freeburg, IL, and a member of the Freeburg Historical Society and the New Athens Sportsman’s Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Florence, nee Sehlinger, Koerber; a brother, Richard Koerber; a daughter-in-law, Melissa Koerber; and the mother of his children, Marybeth, nee Janssen, Koerber.
Surviving are his children, Matthew (Jamie Believeau) Koerber, David (Jennifer) Koerber, and Julie (Jay) Bauer;
and 13 grandchildren, Irene Brown, Van Brown, Maximilian Brown, Trace Bauer, Vivian Bauer, Eve Bauer, Hattie Bauer, Jake Koerber, Katelyn Koerber, Jed Koerber, Josh Believeau, Bryce Believeau, and Camden Believeau.

Burial with military honors will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Freeburg, IL.
