Robert Charles Walta, 64, of Belleville, IL, born June 23, 1954, in Belleville, IL, died Monday, December 10, 2018, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Robert was the former co-owner of Crosno’s Transmission shop in Collinsville, IL.  He was a founding member of the Arch Angels paintball team and traveled the country with them.  He was an avid golfer and fisherman and loved to travel. Robert owned drag cars and also traveled the country with his drag racing hobby.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Karen L. Walta, nee Iwasczuk, his parents, Robert and Audrey, nee Wiemer, Walta; and a brother, Richard Walta.

He is survived by a brother, Ronald (Dana) Walta of Troy, IL;
a sister, Ann (Nick) Thomas of Shiloh, IL;
a sister-in-law, Elaine Walta of Belleville, IL;
two nephews, Daniel Thomas and Eric Walta;
a niece, Jennifer (Zach) VanBibber;
great-nieces and great-nephews;
his father’s surviving spouse, Janice Walta;
and best friends, Charlie Lewey and Jim Distler.
