I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Rod's passing. I have known Rod for the past 20 years as a physician who interacted with him in his roles with MedImmune and AZ. What I will always remember about Rod was how when I think of every meeting with him it brings a smile to my face. Rest in Peace my friend.

To the entire family of Rodney Woods-----I just learned yesterday that Rodney passed away; he was one of my students in 7th grade history at North Junior High in Collinsville; I remember him being an excellent student who was friendly to fellow students in class and to me. I am so sorry for you loss. God bless all of you.

Rod and I worked together for nearly 10 years at MedImmune and AZ. I counted Rod as a friend and we kept in touch after my departure. Over the years I learned that Rod was more sensitive than he appeared, and I noticed a side to him he rarely let people see in his work life. I admired his strong sense of right and his conflict with permitting injustices he saw around him. Along with this, he had a quick wit, infectious laugh, and a sense of humor that could point out the irony of a situation with humor. He was a special human being. He was courageous. He was a warrior. He was kind. And he possessed a precious vulnerability too. I will miss him greatly. I will pray for his eternal soul to the one God who forgives us all our sins. Jesus Christ is come to seek and to save that which is lost.

While working at MedImmune, Rod was one of my favorite people to see at meetings. No one could bring a smile to my face quite like he could. He was one of the good ones! My prayers are with the Woods family. Rod, your zest and humor will be deeply missed.

Dear Woods Family, My relationship with your Rod began when he was a freshman @ Collinsville High School. He was always such a wonderful person. I really found him to be a very mature young man. Even though I did not have a close relationship with him after high school. I always admired him. When you all came to Holy Trinity, I was so pleased to see all of you together at Mass. I came to look forward to our brief Sunday meeting. I cannot tell you how sad this makes me and I can only say, I feel your loss is unbelievable and my wish is that God will hold all of you in the palm of His hand..Please accept my sincerest sympathy.

Why did you have to go and die? I don't want to have to say goodbye. God must have thought you were special to take you away, but couldn't he have waited for another day? God's looking after you now, High, high up in the sky. Up there where all the angels lie. You wouldn't have wanted me to make a fuss, After all, you're still down here with all of us. Just because I can't see you, doesn't mean you're not here. I know you are somewhere very, very near. Goodbye My Friend Because your life here on earth has come to an end. Rest in Peace,
