Ronald Lee Bayer, 84, of Swansea, IL, born February 11, 1937, in Belleville, IL, died November 22, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Bayer was the owner/operator of Harter’s Hobby House, Belleville, IL. He was a member of the United States Army Reserve.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Frances, nee Kern, Bayer.

Ronald is survived by cousins, and his close friends, Bob and Carole Hermann.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Private burial will be held at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.

Sorry to hear of Ron's passing. I spent a lot of time shopping at Harter's and often times stopped there just to talk with Ron about trains, politics and just about anything else. RIP Ron!

My thoughts & prayers are with you at this time. I grew up in the same block as Harter's. My mother had a beauty shop next door to the recent hobby shop. I spent alot of time in the shop with Ronnie, Birdie, and Bob Herman. Ron, may you rest in peace.
