Mr. Grommet was a millwright and a member of the Southern Illinois Carpenters Union. He was a member of the Turkey Hill Grange, Belleville, IL.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Wilma M., nee Schad, Grommet.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Patsy, nee Lamkin, Grommet, whom he married on November 5, 1977;
two daughters, Ellen (Adam) Helmers of Edwardsville, IL,
and Abigail Grommet of Sturgeon Bay, WI;
two grandchildren, Willa and Eleanor Helmers;
one brother, Allen (Nancy) Grommet of Wyckoff, NJ;
one sister, Susan (Friedrich) Burian of Chicago, IL;
and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2016, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, January 29, at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. There will be a Turkey Hill Grange ritual at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 29, at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Tim Sims officiating. Burial will follow at High Prairie Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
