Ronald “Ron” Joseph Kramer, 66, of Belleville, IL, born April 24, 1950 in St. Louis, MO, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at his residence.

Mr. Kramer worked for Lauhoff Grain, Danville, IL, and most recently for LaFore trucking, Swansea, IL.  He was a jet engine mechanic instructor while serving in the U.S. Air Force for more than 11 years, and also served on the Kickapoo Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years before his retirement.  He was a member of  I & I Arson Investigators, and was the first young man to earn the Pope Pius XII Eagle Scout Award in St. Louis.  Ron will be most remembered for his smile and the pure joy he brought through his endless pranks and practical jokes.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his father, Lester John Kramer, Sr.

He is survived by his dear wife of nearly 40 years, Louise Catherine, nee Mayer, Kramer, whom he married on January 21, 1977;
a daughter, Regina Ann Grupe of West Chicago, IL;
a son, Michael Andrew Grupe of Belleville, IL;
three grandchildren, Bryson Pryor,
Hunter Grupe,
and Andrew Grupe;
his mother, Jeanette Therese, nee Meyer, Kramer, of St. Louis, MO;
a sister, Sharon Ann Kramer of St. Louis, MO;
a brother, Lester John Kramer Jr. of Town & Country, MO;
two dear friends, Kyle Koerkenmeier, and Julie Hankins;
and a very special dog, Stan the “Garage Manager” whose canine love has been the greatest rescue of all.

I was shocked to read that Ron passed away. I am sorry for your loss. If you are ever in our area, stop by the Chapel. Services are at 7 p.m. (not 7:30 p.m.) We have cleared the hillside so all can see the Lighted Crosses brightly on the hill.
