Although Shari possessed many talents and interests, nothing was more important to her than her family, and there has never been a more devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Shari attended high school in Mason City, Iowa, and was a graduate of Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville with degrees in both Secondary and Elementary Education. She loved gardening, literature and crafts. Her collection of tropical plants and flowers brought joy to her family and friends. Shari enjoyed traveling and cruised to many ports of call all over the world with her husband and family. She recently returned from a much anticipated Disney Cruise with all of her family, including her two grandsons, Jack and Mason, who were her delight.
Shari, along with her husband, Tim, founded Bellecourt Banquet Center 22 years ago and worked tirelessly to ensure its success. Prior to opening Bellecourt, she was a teacher to both high school and elementary age children and devoted herself to them while in her position as an educator.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Bette, nee Tarr, Nicholson.
Shari is survived by her husband of 36 years, Timothy Faltus; two loving daughters, Elizabeth (Richard) Simms and Katherine Faltus; Two grandsons, Jack and Mason Simms; a brother, Gerald (Cathy) Nicholson; a brother-in-law, Daniel Faltus; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.
Shari believed that everyone needed a “hyacinth to feed their soul.” She was the hyacinth that fed the souls of those around her, and will be deeply missed by those who loved her.
