Shirley Harper

Shirley Marie Harper, nee Waigand, 83, of Swansea, IL, born August 23, 1934, in Belleville, IL, died Sunday, July 29, 2018, at her residence.

Shirley was a dental assistant before her retirement.  She was a member of St. Peter Cathedral Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.  She loved gardening and working in her yard.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, John H. Harper, who died January 16, 1982; her parents Martin and Anita, nee Mertzweiler, Waigand; and a sister, Joyce Conder.

Surviving are three daughters, Sheryl (Michael) Dill of Belleville, IL, Victoria (John) Hardy of Florissant, MO, and Julie (James) Donner of Belleville;
ten grandchildren, Erin (Susan Rehrig) Rodowick, Leonard (Rachael) Rodowick, Elizabeth Rodowick, Nicole (Gary Nipper) Dill, Michael (Angi) Dill, Brent (Tiffany) Dill, Nicole (Michael) Deihl, Brian Dayton, and Katlyn and Courtney Donner;
14 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Addyson, Maxon, Adalyn, Logan, Maya, L.J. Henry, Scottie, Olive, John, Charlie, Abigail, and Owen.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at St. Peter Cathedral Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at St. Peter Cathedral Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Steven Pautler officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
