Shirley Ann Kling, nee Hankammer, 96, or “Nan” by all who knew and loved her, born February 16, 1920, in Belleville, IL, died Friday, October 28, 2016, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Shirley retired from St. Clair County Jury Commission after 32 years of service.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Kling, whom she married on August 20, 1942; her parents, George and Alvera, nee Decker, Hankammer; sister and brother-in-law, June and Leroy Schaefer; brother and sister-in-law, George and Rose Hankammer; in-laws, Alphonse and Louise Kling; and  sister-in-law and brother-in-law Gladys and Clay Barber.

Surviving are her two children, son, Michael E. Kling of Belleville, IL,
and daughter, Mary Beth (Dennis) Becker of Swansea, IL.
The joy of her life were her four grandsons, Scott (Colleen) Becker of Shiloh, IL,
Ryan (Cara) Becker of Jackson, MO,
Sean Becker of San Diego, CA,
and Brett Becker of St. Louis, MO;
seven great-grandchildren, Kyle, Collin,
Cayden, Mia, Cole,
Charlotte “Charlie”, and Crue;
a brother, Charles R. Hankammer of San Francisco, CA;
and nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to The Backstoppers Inc. or to Heartland Hospice.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, or 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016, at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Belleville, IL with Msgr. John Myler officiating.

Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.

Our sincere condolences on your dear mother’s passing. My mother always enjoyed the time she spent with Shirley at Mother’s Club at St. Teresa’s. I enjoyed the times I saw Shirley and spoke with her at the court house. She was a sweet and lovely lady.
