Stanley George Demick, Jr., 78, of Freeburg, IL, born September 30, 1943, in Engelmann Township, IL, died Saturday, August 20, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Stanley retired from Hubbell-Wiegmann after 27 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL. He loved to fish and enjoyed gardening. Stanley will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley G. Sr. and Elvira A., nee Linder, Demick; a brother, Thomas Demick; and a son-in-law, Mark Lucash.

Surviving are his two daughters, Tammy Walker and Diane Lucash; seven grandchildren, Michael Walker, Bryce Walker, Brandi Brower, Andrew (Sara) Demick, Alexandria (Don) Sanders, Erica (Dean) Gerros, and Marc Lucash; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Geri Wisneski, Joyce Adamson, Jenny Crews, and Linda Lively; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL.

Funeral: A funeral procession will leave at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL, for an 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL, with Fr. Stanley Konieczny officiating.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Freeburg, IL.

Thoughts and prayers to the family. Junior was a nice neighbor and someone you could always count on for veggies from his garden that he was always working in. RSP
