Stephen P. Anich, 99, of Belleville, IL, born April 9, 1923, in East St. Louis, IL, died Friday, November 11, 2022, at The Benedictine Community in Belleville, IL.

 Stephen worked for 40 years as an electrical engineer for Union Electric Company (Ameren).

He attended University of Illinois, then joined the Navy where he maintained U.S. Military Aircraft. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, volunteered for parish events, and delivered Meals on Wheels to the homebound. He especially enjoyed his membership in the Automobile Collectors Club of Belleville, where he made many dear friends. Stephen was most appreciative of the kind and caring staff at the Dammert Center at the Benedictine Community.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Denise, nee Farrow, Anich; his parents, Stephen Sr. and Emilie, nee Leskowski, Anich; two sons-in-law, John Veto and Frederick Stein; and three sisters.

His surviving family includes three daughters, Tina Stein,
Carolyn (Stephen) Snider, and Julianna Veto;
two sons, David (Mary-helen) Anich and Dennis (Kathy) Anich;
eight grandchildren, Nicole (Rob) Cummings, Christian (Renee) Stein,
Robyn Stein (Randy) Kwan, Tiffany (Nick) Mansito, Elizabeth Snider,
Michael Veto, Christopher Veto, and Bobby Veto;
and ten great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace School. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2022, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 5923 North Belt West, Belleville, IL 62223.

Funeral:  A memorial mass will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2022, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Matthew Elie officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
