Stephen “Steve” Nast, 67, of Swansea, IL, born February 2, 1957, in Belleville, IL, died Monday, February 12, 2024, at Mercy Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Steve retired as a quality inspector from Roho/Permobil. He was an avid sports fan who was well-known for the many years he worked as a referee and umpire for local basketball and softball games.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Joyce, nee Keim, Nast; his brother-in-law, Randy Klotz; and his nephew, Danny Klotz.

Surviving are his loving wife of 39 years, Victoria “Vicki”, nee Barber, Nast, whom he married on August 18, 1984; two daughters, Courtney Parson and Amanda (Greg) Little; a son-in-law, Zach Parson; three grandchildren, Colton Parson, Ella Parson, and Luka Little; two sisters, Jean (Richard) Nance and Judy Klotz; a brother, Bob Nast (Tina Nichols); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Programs and Services for Older Persons (PSOP). Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.  Casual attire is requested by the family.

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating.

Steve was the first face i saw on Tuesday mornings, always smiling and teasing me about something. he was my go-to guy to harass in Bingo. I loved bantering back and forth with him. he was loved by so many and will always be a special place in our PSOP family. he will be missed.

My sincere condolences to Vickie, Amanda, Courtney, and Steve's siblings, I'm so sorry for your loss. Steve was a wonderful man in every way. He will be missed so much by so many. I grieve with you. I'm so sorry to hear about Steve's death. He was a great colleague and friend, and I will always remember our time working together. Vicki and the rest of the Nast family are in my heart and mind during this difficult time. I can't imagine how hard it must be to lose someone you love so much. I wish I had stayed in touch with you more over the years, but I want you to know that I care and respect you deeply.

My love and prayers go out to the Nast Family. Steve was a funny guy and always had people laughing. My heart breaks, as they have been part of my ROHO family for a long time. Steve will greatly be missed. The entire family is in our thoughts and prayers.

My love and upmost respect goes out to the Nast family. Steve was a fun loving guy and wasn't afraid to state his opinion on any subject. I enjoyed my time working with Steve along with hanging outside of work with him and has family. The Nast family is my family and I hold you all in my heart. Rest in heaven Steve.

I knew Steve for many years , meeting him while working with his mom Joyce at St Elizabeth hospital. He was always so cheerfull around us. I know he will be missed.
