Sue Ann attended St. Mary’s Special School & St. Joseph’s in St. Louis, MO from age 6 to 21 years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Alumni.
Sue loved living at her home with her best friend and house mate Rita while participating in all the fun activities and joking around with Paula, Laura, and staff from the Help at Home Program.
Sue Ann participated in both Missouri & Illinois Special Olympic competitions in bowling and swimming. Sue loved shooting baskets and spending holidays, weekends, and summers on the family farm. In the later years, her visits with Mark and Kim were a highlight as they went to hear bands, dancing, going boating, singing in the microphone and many friends.
She was a typical “all girl” in loving to have her hair and nails done. She enjoyed collecting stuffed animals as well as loving and hugging cats and dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd G. and Louise C., nee Lanter, Forcade; and aunts and uncles.
Surviving are her sister, Lynn (Robert) Meeker of Bloomington, IL;
two brothers, Daniel F. (Marcia) Forcade of Chandler, AZ, and Mark A. (Kimberly) Forcade of Smithton, IL;
six nieces and nephews, Andrya (Jason) Smith, Eric Meeker, Michael (Jill) Forcade, Christine (John) Miller, Kendra (Deric) Blaha, and Shannon (Brian) Gerstenkorn;
and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.
The Forcade family would like to thank the staff at Help at Home, especially the many years of love and support from Paula Eno who has known Sue Ann since she was eight years old, helping at Sunny Hill camp with her mother and as her caregiver, along with Laura and all the staff members with Help at Home. They are truly special people.
