Susan Engel

Print Obituary
Susan Jean Engel, nee Mueller, 73, of Belleville, IL, born September 18, 1948, in Milwaukee, WI, died Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Susan had worked in the banking industry, more recently at State of Mo. Dept. of Mental Health. She loved her hobbies, which included collecting antiques, dog grooming, and real estate. Sue was instrumental in organizing their neighborhood watch program. She had a quirkiness quality that we all loved, especially her nieces. She was extraordinarily gifted in helping others rather than herself. Sue will be missed by her boyfriend, Randy, and her best friend, Rheda.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Engel; and her parents, Albert and Doris, nee Olson, Mueller.

She is survived by her sister, Linda (James) Phillips of El Paso, TX.

Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.

Sue was my sister-in-law, and after my brother Doug died, she helped me with many different things and in many different ways over the years when my own family didn't. I will always remember her for that. God bless you Sue, and tell Doug I still miss him.
