Sylvia I. Kuzmik, nee Saul, 92, of Belleville, IL, born September 11, 1924, in East St. Louis, IL, went to live with her loving God on Friday, February 3, 2017, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Kuzmik retired after working for 35 years at Lederle Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company. She was a member of St. Peter’s Cathedral Parish, Belleville, IL, where she volunteered on Saturday mornings to help feed the homeless. She was also a member of the St. Clair Garden Club, Elks Lodge BPOE #664, the Turkey Hill Grange, and the Catholic Knights & Ladies of Illinois (CK&L of I), where she was a bingo worker. Sylvia was an avid traveler, was active in bowling and golf leagues, and recently had a hole-in-one.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Bernard Kuzmik, whom she married June 1, 1946, and who died April 9, 1991; her parents, Walter and Helen, nee Brcek, Saul; her sister, Ruby Riley; and a sister-in-law, Anna Saul.

Surviving are two brothers, Wilbert Saul of East Alton, IL,
and Delmar (Sharon) Saul of Cahokia, IL;
nine nieces and nephews, Joyce (Andy) Ventimiglia, Kevin (Liz) Saul, Betty (John) Skidmore,
Marsha (Brian) Markle, Georgia (Charles) Hume, Dan (Melissa) Saul, Dwayne Saul,
Larry Remo, and Carol Hazedkamp;
numerous great-nieces and great-nephews;
and a dear friend, Charles Hoffstetter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the form of masses. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at St. Peter’s Cathedral Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at the Cathedral, with Msgr. John Myler officiating.

Burial will be in Maryrest Cemetery, New Jersey, at a later date.

Sylvia has been a customer of ours since 2008. We are so sad to hear of her passing. She was such a kind and talented lady. I don’t think we know anyone else personally who ever hit 4 hole-in-one shot in golf. She was truly a remarkable lady. She will certainly be missed. -The entire Blue Stream Team
