Tom worked as a billing clerk at Sigman Heating & Air Conditioning, Belleville, IL. He loved to golf and watch NASCAR .
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul “Hopper” and Elizabeth “Betty”, nee Gain, Phillips; and a brother-in-law, Chuck Staff.
He is survived by his partner, Linda Abbott, and her children, Heidi (Dan Ingram) Abbott-Ingram, and their children Kyia and Misha, and Corey (Erica) Abbott, and their child, Westyn; three sisters, Mary Jo (Jon) Teague, Beth (Jeff) Buehlhorn, and Ellen Staff; two brothers, Michael (Barbara) Phillips and Paul (Margie) Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery.
