Timothy John “Tim” Zika, 50, of Belleville, IL, born July 9, 1966, in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, August 27, 2016, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Tim attended grade school at St. Luke’s Catholic Grade School in Belleville, IL, and was a graduate of Belleville East High School, Class of 1984.  He worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union for 18 years, working as an architectural sheet metal worker.  He was a faithful St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Dallas Cowboys football fan. He loved fishing and spending time at his clubhouse in Ellis Grove, IL.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George and Catherine Zika of Belleville, IL, and maternal grandparents, Louis and Viola Bach of Carlyle, IL.

Surviving are his parents, Kenneth J. and Geraldine M. “Gerry”, nee Bach, Zika of Belleville, IL;
one sister, Deann (Andy) Bergmann of New Athens, IL;
two nephews, Trevor and Tyler Bergmann;
one niece, Amanda Bergmann;
aunts;
uncles;
cousins;
and his special dog, Bogie.

Memorials may be made to Relay for Life, to Washington University Cancer Research, or as Memorial Masses.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2016, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2016 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Fr. James Nall officiating.  Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
