Virginia Rose Blanquart, nee Scholz, 77, of Smithton, IL, formerly of Swansea, IL, born June 27, 1939, in St. Louis, MO, died Sunday, December 11, 2016, at St. Paul’s Home, Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Blanquart was a licensed practical nurse at Memorial Convalescent Center before her retirement.  She was a member of Fairview Heights Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John J. Blanquart Sr., whom she married on June 9, 1962, and who died on March 18, 2011; and her parents, Walter V. and Betty, nee Wisa, Scholz.

Surviving are her five children, John J. (Elisa) Blanquart Jr. of Anchorage, AK,
Joy L. (Mike) Mueller of O’Fallon, IL,
Jerry T. (Kim) Blanquart of Millstadt, IL,
Joseph L. Blanquart of Belleville, IL,
and June T. (Franz) Fischer of Kearney, MO;
ten grandchildren, Kylie Blanquart, Sean (Samantha) Blanquart,
Jennifer (Chris) Monroe, Kristin (Justin) Waterson,
Mary Kate, Benjamin, and Jonah Blanquart,
and Katelyn, Brandon, and Alex Fischer;
two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Tristan;
and a sister, Teresa June Zimmerman of St. Louis, MO.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, to the American Heart Association, to Fairview Heights Church of Christ, or to St. Paul’s Senior Community.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Fairview Heights Church of Christ, 9955 Bunkum Road, Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Fairview Heights Church of Christ, with Pastor Joe Taylor officiating.

Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
