Virginia A. Stell, nee McMillon, 91, of Belleville, IL, born May 17, 1925, in Hoxie, AR, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016, at Cedar Ridge Health Care Center, Lebanon, IL.

Mrs. Stell was a dedicated wife and mother.  She was a foster parent for Illinois Family and Children’s Services through the years while raising her daughter and step-children.  Many will remember Ginny working at Scoville’s Restaurant, Loisel Village lunch counter, or S.S. Kresge lunch counter in East St. Louis, IL.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Stell; her parents, Joe and Rose, nee Garner, McMillon; a brother, Alfred; and three sisters, Lillian Hilburn, Mildred Hester and Juanita Gilmore.

Surviving are her daughter, Rosemary (Daniel) Gruber of Belleville, IL;
three granddaughters, Karen (Michael) Schwoebel of Belleville, IL,
Nancy (Shawn) Beaty of Bloomington, IL,
and Lynn (Michael) Stover of Aurora, CO;
and seven great-grandchildren, Paige and Kalynn Schwoebel,
Kellen and Devin Beaty,
and Drew, Allie and Casey Stover.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2017, at Cox Funeral Home, Walnut Ridge, AR.

Funeral:  A graveside service and burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2017, at Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery, Walnut Ridge, AR.

My sympathy for your family. I am friends with Tina and spent many days at Virginia’s house in Sparta and down at the lake in the 70’s. I still have my first Mood Ring she got me for a Christmas Party she took us to.
