Mr. Evans served in the United States Navy for seven years. More recently, he had worked as a department manager and retired from Walmart. He was a member of the American Legion in Penn Yenn, NY, the Elks Club, and the Masons in Oneonta, NY. Ward enjoyed the outdoors, and his favorite activities were bird watching, hunting, and fishing. He was an animal lover and especially loved his dogs, Lady and Abigail.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Florence, nee Dickson, Evans; and two brothers, Robert “Bob” Evans and Dick (Nancy) Evans.
He is survived by his wife, Donna L., nee Brown, Evans;
two sons, Ward (Elena) Evans, Jr. and Matthew (Spring) Evans;
six grandchildren;
two sisters-in-law, Jo A. Brown-Leiker and Carol Evans
and a brother-in-law, Michael H. Leiker.

Burial with full military honors will be held at 10:15 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2022, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
