Wayne G. Forcade, 33rd Degree Mason, 87, of Freeburg, IL, born October 4, 1929, in Belleville, IL, died Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Freeburg Care Center, Freeburg, IL.

Mr. Forcade retired after 24 years in the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer.  After his retirement, he worked for St. Clair Service, “FS”, in Belleville, IL.  He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL. Wayne was a member and past commander of the VFW Freeburg Post 7074 and a proud member of American Legion Freeburg Post 550.   Mr. Forcade was an Ainad Shrine Temple member and a Past Commander of the Ainad Shrine Legion of Honor.  He was a Past Worshipful Master of Freeburg Lodge 418 A.F.A.M. of which he also served as secretary.   Wayne was a past patron of Freeburg Chapter No. 542 Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Scottish Rite Consistory in the Valley of Southern Illinois and held the honor of a 33rd Degree Mason.   He was proud to have served as the Freeburg Township Supervisor for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Violet “Vi” nee Miller, Forcade, whom he married June 10, 1951 in Las Vegas, NV, and who died November 18, 2011; his parents, Armin and Bonnie, nee Boston, Forcade; and two brothers, Jack D. Forcade and Donald L. Forcade.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Retired USAF Lt. Col. Duane and Karen Forcade of Freeburg, IL;
two grandchildren, Katherine Forcade and Jacob Forcade (fiancee’, Emily Matlak);
a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Priscilla (Pat) Hertlein,
Carol Williams,
and Guy Miller;
God-children, Shannon (Dane) Brueggemann,
Matthew Price,
and Gage Ruhmann;
a special honorary great-granddaughter, Quinn Brueggemann;
and beloved neighbors, Jim and Coco Price.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL, with the Rev. Earl Crecelius officiating.

Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
