Wilfred H. Pyatt, 89, of Freeburg, IL, born February 28, 1926, in Boss, MO, died Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Freeburg Care Center, Freeburg, IL.

Mr. Pyatt was the plant manager for Columbiana Seed Company for 32 years before his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Wilfred was preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Sylvia, nee Hedrick, Pyatt; two brothers, Gilbert Pyatt and Gerald Pyatt; and two sisters, Vonna Hardwick and Violet McCurley.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Myrtle L., nee Davis, Pyatt, whom he married on December 29, 1945;
two daughters, Janice (Randy) Anton of Gilbert, AZ,
and Debra (Charles) Ross of Freeburg, IL;
one son, Kevin (Debi) Pyatt of Fayetteville, IL;
seven grandchildren, Kirsten (David) Dixon of Frisco, TX,
Bryce (Jennifer) Anton of Longmont, CO,
John Ross of Millstadt, IL,
Tyler (Deanne) Ross of St. Libory, IL,
Kammi (Scott) McClendon of Shoshoni, WY,
Shawn Uncapher of Casper, WY,
and Joseph Pyatt of Riverton, WY;
10 great-grandchildren;
one brother, William E. (Margo) Pyatt of Dowagiac, MI;
one sister, Donna Snow of Irving, IL;
and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral: According to Wilfred’s wishes, funeral procession will leave at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015, from St. Paul’s United Church of Christ parking lot, 8 North Belleville Street, Freeburg, IL, for an 11:15 a.m. graveside service at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Freeburg, IL with Rev. Earl Crecelius officiating.

Burial will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Freeburg, IL.

Saddened by the passing of time, blessed by a greater place. Mr. Pyatt was a boss and a friend when I worked at the seed mill in 1968. An understanding and fair man, he left me with many values that I carry to this dsy.
