William Ray “Bill” Gromer, 67, of Swansea, IL, born January 9, 1951, died Monday, November 26, 2018, at his residence.

Bill was a graduate of Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville and worked for many years in various positions. After retirement he enjoyed volunteering his time in community services.

He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas “A.D.” Gromer; and a brother, Gary Gromer.

He is survived by his mother, Fern, nee Starkey, Gromer of Belleville, IL; two sisters, Kim (Monty) Powers of Smithton, IL, and Barbara (Robert) Jaco of Belleville, IL; nieces and nephews, Lori (Gary) Thielemann, Bill (Tammy) Powers, Daren Powers, and Monica Powers (Josh Henry); and great-nieces and great-nephews.

 Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Cari Frus officiating.

Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
