
Bill worked as a programmer and systems analyst in the banking industry, including Regions Bank in Illinois, formerly First National Bank of Belleville, Union Planters Bank and Magna Bank, and also had worked for Mercantile Bank in Missouri. Bill was an organ donor and was honored to qualify for tissue donation. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family at his beloved clubhouse “Southern Exposure” in Ava, Illinois. He was known for his passion for Diet Coke and watching movies with his wife and kids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Edith, nee Beineke, Rhein.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Stephanie Ann Rhein, nee Zollner; a daughter, Meredith Jean Rhein of West Haven, CT; a son, Joe William Rhein, who recently returned from Shanghai, China; a brother, Joseph (Barbara) Rhein, and their children, Rachel (Derek) Boender, and Jessica (Matt) Elsbecker, and their respective children in Arizona; and his best friend, Brian Fitzgerald of Fairview Heights, IL.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
