William “Billy” Thompson Jr. 35, of Lehi, UT, and formerly of Alton, IL, born May 9, 1983, in Alton, IL, died Friday, March 29, 2019, in Lehi, UT.

Billy was a member of the Pipefitters Union Local 140 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was known by his friends and family as an amazing person with an infectious laugh that could light up a room. He was known to love his family more than anything in the world, a man who loved mushroom hunting, catching wild animals, spending time with his children, and scary movies.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Winnie and Louise Thompson; his maternal grandparents, Roger and Hazel Allen; two aunts, Faye Rogers and Joann Allen; and one cousin, Durlin Thompson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of seven years, Sarah, nee Mathews, Thompson, whom he married on March 2, 2012;
four children William Thompson III, Kylee Thompson, Matthew Thompson, and Maddison Schneider;
his mother, Patricia (John) Mohr of Smithton, IL;
his father, William “Bill” Thompson of Lehi, UT;
one brother, Curtis (Kristy) Thompson;
two sisters, Brandy (Heinz) Thompson, and Pam (Jose) Gurule;
two nieces, Bristol Thompson and Mackenzie Kraus;
and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to the family to help with funeral costs and to help with the future of his children.   Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Doug Stewart officiating.

Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Smithton, IL.

I met Billy the first day of kindergarten we got into the bus stop from that day we were best friends I knew Billy's brothers and sisters and Mom and Dad pleasure a fishing with him and Grandpa Rodger. I love you brother I'll see you on the other side one day

Billy I will never forget how kind you was and how u loved me and was always trying to help me with what ever it was he had a great heart a big heart and he loved everybody I will miss you calling me just to talk or to be your kind self and just checking to see if I was ok I will miss you more then u will ever know I love u I do I always will love u and u will never be forgotten my heart is so broken I wish I could be there but I can’t but you know I seen you before they sent you on your flight back to Illinois I wish u the best journey to where ever it is when u pass but we all will be there one day together billy tell grandma and grandpa Thompson and aunt Faye we love them and billy this is not a goodbye just for now love u more then anything I could even try to write or say in words but u already knew this love your sister and Jose says he loves u also and your smile you had when we went and saw you had that smart ass grin of yours and that was amazing he says

All my prayers go out to Billy and Sarah's Families. Billy will be missed. He was a great guy all around. He had such a great sense of humor. He will be missed greatly. RIP Billy and we all love you and will always miss you!!
