Yvonne Ann Brueggeman, nee Gerrish, 72, of Belleville, IL, born January 8, 1950, in Mount Vernon, IL, died Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at St. Paul’s Senior Community, Belleville, IL.

 Mrs. Brueggeman was a registered OB nurse and retired from Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL, after almost 40 years of service. She was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Mary, nee Gorham, Gerrish; a brother, Loren Gerrish; and a brother-in-law, Ron Biggs.

 Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Daniel J. Brueggeman, whom she married on September 4, 1970; a daughter, Kristie Hitpas of Swansea, IL; two sons, Keith (Danielle) Brueggeman of Alton, IL, and Kirk (Maura) Brueggeman of Fairview Heights, IL; nine grandchildren, Taylor, Jacob, Daniel, Tyler, Max, Sam, Kira, Reese, and Logan; two sisters, Mary Biggs of Centralia, IL, and Kathy (Dr. Bill) Sprich of Belleville, IL; a brother, David (Brenda) Gerrish of Centralia, IL; nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Gail Brueggeman, Sue and Dennis Zimbelman, Mary and Tom Kloess, John Brueggeman, and Jane (Jim Bereitschaft) Brueggeman.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2022, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating.

I want to extend my sincere condolences to the family. Yvonne and I graduated from high school together. I was a newbie our senior year and Yvonne was one of the first to make me feel welcome and became a good friend.
